Hey, I’m Junaid.

I’m a software engineer and Co-Founder of Arbor. Most of my work is in backends and developer tools. Here’s some of what I’ve been working on.

01

About

A bit about me.

I’m a full-stack engineer with a backend focus, and Co-Founder of Arbor.

At Docwo, I built the backend for an ambulance dispatch platform. At FlyRank, I worked on search-ranking models. I also build developer tools and contribute to open source.

My projects cover web apps, machine learning and embedded systems. I care about security and keeping the code understandable for the next person working on it.

Outside of work, I’m into music, training and cars.

Building Arbor and Arbor Leash with Anand.

  • A production backend, end to end

Architected, built and deployed the backend of ResQ, an ambulance dispatch platform, at Docwo. Best App award.

  • Hackathon wins

Won four hackathons in October 2026: NexAI at VIT Vellore, two at Google DevDay 26', and the OpenAI DevDay Hackathon.

  • Twenty-two projects

Developer tools, multi-agent systems, billing platforms and original games; six selected works are below.

Experience

Where I’ve worked.

  1. Sep 2026 – Present

    Arbor

    Co-Founder

Arbor is a GitHub check for pull request review, built on graph-native code intelligence: it lists what a change reaches, called functions with no test found, and which files to read first. As Co-Founder, I work with Anand on Arbor and Arbor Leash.

  2. Jul – Oct 2026

    FlyRank AI

    Machine Learning Engineer · Internship

    • Built a content-refresh ranking pipeline on 37,385 pseudonymized search pages, pairing a random forest with a CTR-headroom baseline and a proposed seven-archetype editorial playbook with human review.
    • Found and fixed feature leakage, then audited client holdout, leave-one-client-out and February-to-March splits. Saved cross-client Precision@50: 0.258 ± 0.237 versus a 0.173 baseline, with wide variation between clients. The model flags existing declines; later traffic outcomes remain untested.
    • Published the study with reproducible notebooks, metric receipts and figures, and built a scheduled arXiv research scout for weekly ranked ML literature digests. Completed 23 assignments and the accepted search-ranking capstone.

  3. Apr – Jun 2026

    Docwo.com

    Backend Developer Intern

    • Architected, built and deployed the entire backend of ResQ, an ambulance dispatch platform with patient, driver and admin apps.
    • Real-time ambulance discovery and booking, automatic driver matching with timeout retries and escalation, live GPS tracking over Socket.IO, and an admin dashboard with live KPIs.
    • Hardened with JWT refresh-token rotation, Google OAuth 2.0, role-based access control, rate limiting, AES-256-GCM encryption of personal data and progressive OTP lockout; documented in Swagger and deployed on Azure App Service.

Won the Best App award in the final weekly sprint.

  4. Sep 2024 – Nov 2025

    Mozilla Firefox Club, VIT

    Development Team

Designed and ran technical workshops, hackathons and developer-focused events, coordinated planning, infrastructure and operations with multidisciplinary teams, and built software for the club’s events.

Selected work

A few things I’ve built.

DrainTracer branding with a cracked pipe, leaking blue liquid and a tracing reticle.

DrainTracer

Resource-leak diagnostics for entire Windows process trees, from a live terminal dashboard to automated CI gates. Tracks memory, handles and threads, and separates persistent growth from normal runtime bursts.

  • Least-squares trends across 10, 30 and 60-second windows distinguish sustained leaks from normal resource bursts.
  • Attach to running processes, trace every descendant and compare HTML or JSON reports across runs.
  • Per-project TOML profiles, warm-up handling and headless CI gates with GitHub Actions annotations.

Modif.in homepage with tool search and text, image and document hubs.

Modif.in

114 text, image and document tools in one browser workspace, with cross-tool search, shared editing flows and no sign-up.

  • Cross-hub search, keyboard navigation and consistent workspaces for everyday conversions and edits.
  • Code-split routes and on-demand libraries keep heavy processing off the initial load; document workers start when needed.
  • Local processing where supported, responsive layouts, theme controls and reduced-motion support.

Outrun Your Soul official social card with its title, soul emblem and phone-framed game preview.

Outrun Your Soul

A tactical 3D escape game where your body can outrun danger, but your soul must survive the path you leave behind.

  • A deterministic 120 Hz simulation uses event-time swept collisions; aim previews run the same simulation step as live play.
  • Eight story levels plus seeded branching expeditions, relic drafts and versioned room-entry saves.
  • Eighteen original Blender models, validated as glTF, give the arenas a coherent 3D identity alongside procedural sound effects.

CargoMind mission control with Watchtower alerts, shipment lanes across India and the operations agent.

CargoMind

A logistics control tower coordinating 23 agents across shipment tracking, dispatch planning and disruption recovery.

  • 23 Google ADK agents, 11 MCP tools and two resources cover routing, stock, delivery proof and proactive Watchtower alerts.
  • Model failover, retries and critic feedback loops coordinate recovery; a deterministic offline engine runs without API keys.
  • Passed all 18 documented offline evaluation scenarios with 30% injected chaos, testing recovery under deliberate faults.

Ghostwalk 3D warehouse replay comparing a ghost picker with an optimized layout.

Ghostwalk

A 3D warehouse digital twin that replays 2,362 real orders, races a ghost picker and measures how better product placement cuts walking. First place at NexAI Hack 2026.

  • Simulated annealing reduced held-out walking by 11.1% against the fast-movers-nearest-dock baseline: 101.71 km to 90.40 km.
  • Exact Held–Karp routing for small orders and flagged heuristic routing for larger ones, with train/held-out scoring kept separate.
  • Live scoring in a Web Worker, animated picker races, heatmaps and exportable layout comparisons.

Sign Saber auto-play demonstration with a cyan holographic avatar dodging a magenta wall in the rhythm arena.

Sign Saber

A 3D rhythm arena that turns music into slice, smash, beam and dodge patterns, with optional camera-based upper-body controls.

  • Eight songs and 24 charts, plus a local audio-analysis pipeline that turns custom tracks into playable patterns.
  • Worker-based MediaPipe tracking drives a 43-bone avatar; capture-time scoring stays synchronized to the audio clock.
  • Camera and synthetic performers share the scoring engine, with 28 original synthesized sound effects.
